Overpriced, premium value simply because it says "professional"

That essentially sums up my feeling for this monitor.

Yes, i am totally aware it's a broadcast/studio/production monitor that commands a so much higher value than a shopper monitor, BUT, it's simply not that smart. deduct the special functions, a $600 computer monitor (IPS or PVA panel) with the proper adapters and/or format converters would equal the PQ at a fraction of the value.

Pros;

1. Metal frame (see below),

2. Typical studio/production functions: cross pulse, underscan, blue only,

3. Four preset & 3 user adjustable white balance settings (confusing user changes, see below) ,

4. Composite, S-video (Y/C), element and 2 SDI inputs (all loop thru),

5. 3 freelance user reminiscences,

6. AC or DC operation (removable power cord),

7. varied markers & waveform monitor show (see below),

8. Removable metal stand (see below).

Cons;

1. terribly dear, particularly for a 720p panel,

2. Weight. Over fifteen lbs with stand. till you choose it up, fifteen lbs does not sound like abundant, but it is!,

3. This seems to be a TN panel (un-confirmed) judging by the poor vertical viewing angles. (side to aspect angle is better),

4. Uneven backlighting,

5. No DVI input,

6. Noticeable 'green' forged with the D65, D56 or variable 0-65 user settings (but will be adjusted out),

7. User white balance (Var 1-3) are confusing since every management affects each high and low Y levels. Controls are labeled "High" & "Low", however every has "Bias" & "Gain" figures shown, each amendment whereas adjusting,

8. Older style introduced in 2005. (1760 replacement introduced in 2008 with a apparent IPS panel with a even hight value tag),

9. Heavy, non tilting stand (2 lbs). No sharp edges, however i would not use it on a surface that may scratch or able to dent simply. Since the vertical viewing angle is poor, one thing that tilts is imperative,

10. WFM show is extremely crude and inconsistent. cannot be used for a reliable level readout. (1760's firmware changes the overlay to double the resolution.)
