Almost a Prosumer Camcorder

I bought this camcorder to interchange a Sony DSR-PD170. I required to modify to from miniDV/DVCAM to HD, and within the method I wished to travel to flash media. So is that the Panasonic HDC-TM300 a professional camcorder? Not hardly. Is it a prosumer camcorder? Not very. however it is a sensible choice if you would like sensible quality HD video at an occasional worth (compared to professional camcorders).
On the opposite hand, I simply used this camera to record a 6-hour workshop in a very hotel with not-so-great lighting. The video was terribly washed out - not even near the low-light quality of my Sony DSR-PD170. The TM-300 includes a manual iris/gain feature that permits you to open up to 18db. Surprisingly, the brightness improves considerably while not obtaining too grainy. Still not near the PD170 in auto mode, however considerably higher than the TM-300's auto mode.
I would have liked to own replaced my Sony with a Panasonic AG-HMC150, however at $3800, I simply wasn't prepared for the value. though the TM-300 is not quite adequate to cause me to induce rid of my PD170, it's adequate to create it my camcorder of alternative in well-lit shooting environments.
The Panasonic HDC-TM300 could be a very nice client camcorder that is well-worth the value.
